PAWPAW TREES

DESCRIPTION
The American Paw Paw tree is cold hardy and can be grown as a tree or shrub. They are a small tree with tropical looking leaves and produce the largest native North American fruit that can reach up to six inches in length. This tree produces a very unique fruit that has a creamy texture with a sweet, banana custard-like flavor.
They are excellent for eating fresh or made into ice cream or other banana like recipes.

Paw Paws Attract Wildlife and Pollinators and offer Fall Color. They are a member of the custard apple family, and are the only member of this family to be found in the temperate regions of North America.

Paw paws are very rarely ever sold in stores because the fruits don't hold well after ripening and that hinders shipping. The best way to get these unique tasting fruits is to grow your own.
